VI Dressage Riders Working towards Qualifying for National Competition

Several Virginia Intermont equestrians returned from the Feb. 23 IDA show at Appalachian State University and Dressage Seat Equitation Finals in good standing to qualify for Nationals in individual competition. The VI dressage team has already qualified to compete in the National championship to be held Apr.10-13 in Danville, Va. Individual results for VI riders are:

First level
Alyssa Walsh-2nd at ASU- currently tied for second
Courtney Vesel-3rd at ASU- currently leading the region by 5 points

Upper Training Level
Nick Martino- 1st at ASU- currently leading the region by 4 points
Leah Bear– 7th at ASU- currently 4th in the region

Lower Training Level
Bailey Halverson is leading the region at Lower training level, did not compete at ASU, unlikely she can be caught.
Morgan Rich- 7th at ASU- 5th in the regional standings
Paige Gregerson- 8th at ASU- 9th in the regional standings

Introductory Level
Kelly Barnes is leading the region currently- did not compete at ASU
Rachel Rice is second in the region currently- finished 6th at ASU
Samantha Chambers – 3rd at ASU– 8th regionally
