Student-athletes named to fall Daktronics-NAIA Scholar Athletes

Virginia Intermont College’s Department of Athletics is proud to announce seven student-athletes who have been named to the fall Daktronics-NAIA Scholar Athletes award list. This brings the number of student-athletes named to the list under the leadership of Executive Director of Athletics Christopher Holt to 26.

In order to be nominated by an institution’s head coach or sports information director, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and must have achieved a junior academic status to qualify for this honor.

“All seven student-athletes have been tremendous assets to the Virginia Intermont community since their arrival,” said Holt.

The Cobra Men’s Soccer team placed four members on the list: Andrew Fleenor, a senior from Bristol Va., Charles Leonhardt, a senior from Ashburn, Va., Juan Molina, a senior from Cali, Colombia, and Ross Stallworthy, a senior from Worksop, England.

The Lady Cobra Volleyball team placed two members on the list: Rachel Bell, a senior from Morristown, Tenn., and Shelby Conner, a senior from Ormond Beach, Fla.

The Lady Cobra Women’s Soccer team placed one member on the list, Daniela Paez, a junior from Fort Myers, Fla.
