During Conference Tournament time, Thursday, Feb. 27, Virginia Intermont College’s Women’s Basketball Team visited John F. Kennedy Elementary School at Kingsport, Tenn.
The Lady Cobras had a chance to meet and interact with John F. Kennedy Elementary School students and also had an opportunity to watch the young “Kennedy Dribblers” perform.
While Lady Cobra’s Junior Radvile Autukaite talked to students about the importance of going to college and working hard in order to reach their goals, Junior Kiara Cruise read a book to students. Cruise said, “It was a great experience, but more than anything it was a privilege for us to interact with young, talented students, and know that at the end of the day we made a difference.”
Autukaite was impressed watching the Kennedy Dribblers performance: “Their performance was great. We were impressed by their ability to dribble in many different ways. It is not a surprise that they even come to Bristol to perform at Arby’s Classic. It was a great afternoon with young kids.”
