Social Work Degree Program - Evening and Weekend College

Do you desire to facilitate change and well-being in the lives of others? As part of Virginia Intermont’s social work program, accredited by the Council on Social Work Education, you will gain the knowledge and skills to assist diverse groups of individuals, families and communities. The B.S.W. degree delves into theoretical content, social programs, policies and issues related to the wide range of opportunities in social work.

Program Emphasis:

  • Experiential learning and community involvement to gain interpersonal, leadership and networking skills
  • Senior field practicum with local agencies and institutions to strengthen your skills and promote personal and professional growth
  • Active involvement in community projects such as the Social Work Club’s annual Christmas Party for Kids, Day in the Park, and campus-wide Day of Service to provide students with additional service-learning opportunities.
