Join Campus Shakespeare Workshop Mar. 29; Convocation Credit for Students

In conjunction with their upcoming show Kill Will in April, In/Visible Theatre from Boone, N.C., is offering free Good Will workshops.   The workshop is directed by Karen Sabo of In/Visible Theatre Company and will be held on March 29 at 1:00 – 3:00 pm in the Anne Worrell Fine Arts Center on the Virginia Intermont campus.

While Kill Will is a collection of fight scenes from Shakespeare plays, the workshop covers how to stop fighting with the Bard’s language and become friends with his relevant, actable poetry.  During this class we explore rhythm, meter, and dramatic structure, and show how to use your own artistic impulses to make Shakespeare’s language understandable, relevant, and powerful to modern audiences.

The workshop will be followed by an “English Tea” reception in the lobby. Participants should wear comfortable clothing, and bring a notebook and pen.  No prior experience with Shakespeare is necessary.  Participants may be aged 14 and up. There is no charge for the workshop but space is limited, so advance registration is recommended. You may register by contacting Bonny Gable at or 276-466-7973.
