Assistant Women’s Soccer Coach (part-time)

Job Summary

Virginia Intermont College invites applications for the position of Assistant Women’s Soccer Coach (part-time) – position begins August 1, 2014.

Successful candidates will have the requisite sports knowledge and skills as well as the ability to communicate their passion for the game of soccer and intercollegiate athletics to current and prospective student-athletes.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to,

  • Assisting with and occasionally leading training sessions or working with small groups or players;
  • Planning and logistics for matches and practices.
  • Equipment management.
  • Assisting in the process of identifying and recruiting qualified student-athletes
  • Compliance all NAIA and Departmental rules, regulations and standards including NAIA character education.

Qualifications (required): 1-3 years’ experience as a coach or player at the collegiate level (significant club experience may be substituted). Valid driver’s license. Ability to teach soccer skills and tactics to collegiate athletes. Highly organized and self-motivated

Qualifications (preferred): 4 or more years coaching experience. USSF license or NSCAA coaching diploma, experience coaching goalkeepers or strength and conditioning, bachelor’s degree.

Volunteer Assistant Women’s Soccer Coach

Job Summary

Virginia Intermont College invites applications for the position of Volunteer Assistant Women’s Soccer Coach. Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to, assisting in training sessions; recruiting; working with the head coach and other assistants in directing an NAIA soccer program, including organizing and supervising practices and games. Volunteer coaches are expected to attend all home games, but no out of town travel is required. Review of applications will begin immediately. The position will remain open until filled. Applicants will be required to adhere to all NAIA and Departmental rules, regulations and standards including NAIA character education. Laboratory Assistant

Part-time position (15-20 hours per week during academic semesters fall and spring) available in the Science Department of Virginia Intermont College. The work involves laboratory preparation, cleaning and checking equipment, washing glassware, inventorying/organizing lab materials, preparing orders, and other duties as assigned. A science background is preferred, but the ability to follow instructions and work independently is more important. Applications accepted until position filled. Maintenance Technician

Virginia Intermont College is now accepting applications for a full time Maintenance Technician position.  Benefits include paid vacation, sick and personal time. Also available are retirement plans, medical, dental and life insurance.  Primary responsibilities include maintaining the day-to-day operations and maintaining the physical asset of the campus under the direction of the Head Maintenance Technician and Facilities Services Supervisor.

Essential Functions:

  • Provide exceptional customer service
  • Responsible for the completion of all maintenance service requests and preventative maintenance work orders as assigned
  • Require completion of commercial level plumbing repairs, boiler operation, snow removal, and other general maintenance tasks
  • Work within expense limits established
  • Maintain inventory controls for cost effective operations
  • Responsible for 24-hour emergency maintenance service while on-call
  • Carry pager/cell phone as required for on-call maintenance
  • Responsible for alerting the Head Maintenance Technician and Facilities Services Supervisor of any unusual occurrence and/or damage that have taken place or that may occur
  • Maintain a professional courteous manner with all students, vendors, contractors, and fellow employees.
  • Assure safety standards are used which comply with all college, local, city, state and federal guidelines
  • Ensure compliance of all work related activities in a fair, ethical, and consistent manner
  • Follow established policies and those outlined in the Staff Handbook
  • Require the exertion of 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly.  Standing, walking, bending, climbing stairs while carrying loads and lifting are regular physical requirements of the job.
  • Complete special projects and other responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Possess a professional background in construction or maintenance
  • Familiarity with a Microsoft Windows, Outlook email, and computer based work order systems
  • Possess practical knowledge or aptitude of the following set of skills:
    • Wall and ceiling finish work including drywall installation and repair, plaster repair and restoration
