Full-time Faculty position in Technical Theatre

Virginia Intermont College, a private, liberal arts-based institution, seeks a full-time Assistant Professor/Technical Director to serve the Department of Performing Arts. This is a one-year appointment with possible continuation. Responsibilities of this position include teaching undergraduate technical theatre courses and conducting student labs; providing scenic, lighting, and sound elements of all theatre department productions (four per academic year); training student light and sound board operators and student stage managers; organization and maintenance of scene shop, production storage areas, and equipment; supervising student shop assistants and production crews. Special topics classes and design opportunities may be available. Qualifications: M.F.A. in Technical Direction or Theatre Technology. Candidates should have strong commitment to student mentorship and program development.

Located in Bristol, Virginia Intermont is a private, coeducational, liberal arts-based institution in Southwest Virginia with an enrollment of approximately 600. The Department of Performing Arts offers both B.F.A. and B.A. degree programs in Theatre Arts with concentrations in Design/Technology, Acting, Musical Theatre and Education.

Virginia Intermont College is seeking qualified applicants for adjunct faculty positions for fall 2012 and spring 2013 in the following areas:  Spanish I & II, French I & II, and German I & II.  Masters degree in language of instruction required; doctorate preferred.
