Dining

Bristol abounds with delicious food choices—whether students are on-the-go or taking a moment to relax. From beloved local eateries to famous national chains, Bristol brings pleasure to every palate.

Locally-owned Manna Bagel Company, Bakery and Cafe, 634 State St., is among our students’ favorites. You can curl up on a couch and enjoy coffee and a fresh bagel, as well as freshly-made soups.

Just off State on Piedmont Avenue are a couple of great places that will take you back in time –  Blackbird Bakery. From the old-fashioned counter, you can select donuts, fancy pastries, cookies and pies. And, the Burger Bar with their famous burgers and history!

On Lee Highway, just up from the College, Bella’s Pizza offers a wide variety of pizza and subs.

Back on State Street, the Bristol Grind House is another favorite student hangout to enjoy good coffee, a nice atmosphere including free Wi-Fi, a bite to eat and regular live music.

Machiavelli’s on 5th Street is a favorite of VI students. They offer homemade pizza, pasta, desserts and live music on the weekends.

A little further down at 504 State Street Shelbee’s Vintage Café & Catering students can dine on homemade soup, salads, sandwiches and fresh baked cupcakes, pies and brownies!

A familiar chain restaurant on State Street, Macado’s features a big menu of sandwiches and subs in a friendly Sports Bar atmosphere.

Classy yet casual, K.P. Duty on State Street is a great choice for gourmet fare and is conveniently located next door to the Paramount Center for the Arts.

For exceptional dining, consider Troutdale Bistro on State, offering gourmet selections prepared with fresh local ingredients. The atmosphere is casual and friendly.

Other State Street favorites include Stateline Bar & Grille and Eatz – owned by a VI alum, southern fusion dining at the right price, best ribs and collard greens in town!

New to downtown include 620 State, serving fresh sushi and Asian cuisine, with weeknight specials and live music also CityMug Espresso Café, serving organic fair-trade coffee and tea along with grilled panini’s and salads.
