Anne Rowell Worrell was honored in 1999 by the Alumni Association at Virginia Intermont College as the recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award.

Mrs. Worrell was a member of the Class of 1939. Since coming to Virginia Intermont, she has maintained, in some continuous manner, a constant communication with the college. She began during her college years as a counselor, then instructor, then Director of the College Camp. She has been a member of the Board of Trustees since 1969 and has served on numerous committees and special assignments.

In 1991, the College honored her with an honorary Doctorate of Letters.
Virginia Intermont College is proud to present the Lifetime Achievement Award to Mrs. Worrell for her continuous support and dedication to the College.

Virginia Intermont College – Distinguished Alumni Award

Purpose Statement:
The Distinguished Alumni Award recognizes achievements, successes, and contributions of Virginia Intermont’s alumni to their alma mater, community and church, the Arts, and professional organizations.

Awards

Community and Church Service

This award is given to alumni who has demonstrated excellence in providing service to their community and also to their church.

Eligibility:
• The nominee must be an alumni of the College who has supported and/or been involved with the College since leaving Virginia Intermont.

A nomination form must be submitted with the following information:
• Activities and Offices held;
• Awards and/or Achievements;
• and, Contributions made to their community and/or church.

Award in the Arts

This award is given to an alumni who has demonstrated excellence in the Arts.
Eligibility:

• The nominee must be an alumni of the College who has supported and/or been involved with the College since leaving Virginia Intermont.

A nomination form must be submitted with the following information:
• Professional Credentials and Experience;
• Exhibitions, Performances or Publications;
• and Special Contributions and Achievements in the Arts.

Business and Professional Award
This award is given to an alumni who has demonstrated excellence in his or her profession.

Eligibility:
• The nominee must be an alumni of the College who has supported and/or been involved with the College since leaving Virginia Intermont.

A nomination form must be submitted with the following information:
• Professional Credentials and Experience;
• Exhibitions, Performances or Publications;
• and Special Contributions and Achievements in the Arts.

Service to the College
This award is given to an alumni who has demonstrated excellence in service to Virginia Intermont College.

Eligibility:
• The nominee must be an alumni of the College who has supported and/or been involved with the College since leaving Virginia Intermont.

A nomination form must be submitted with the following information:
• List of Intermont Activities;
• and a description of how V.I. is a better place because of the nominee’s efforts.
Deadline
All nominations shall be received by September 1 of each year. The selection committee will review nominations and determine by Alumni Weekend the number of awards to be presented. The selection committee will be chaired by an alumni member.

Awards Presentation
The awards will be presented during Alumni Weekend each fall, or another specially organized occasion suitable for the presentation may also be considered.

Nomination Form
A nomination form must be submitted with the information listed for each award. The nomination form must also include the name, address, profession, business and office information.
