An outstanding business department offers you the necessary tools for sound business decision-making. Through accounting, business law, business communications, sales promotions and principles of management courses, you will learn to face today's many and varied business challenges with confidence.

Working closely with the physical education department, you will be directed through sports psychology, team sports, history and philosophy of physical education and sport courses. These classes will prepare you for an understanding of today's fitness trends.

Is it possible to double major or pick up a minor?
Yes, some students have chosen to incorporate business administration and sports medicine with their degree in sport management.

What students excel in the program?
Sport management students should have a love for all sports, and they should be ready to learn the business aspects of sports. Our sport management students are hard workers and eager to take initiative.

Are students required to do an internship? What are the internship opportunities?
Yes, all students are required to participate in an internship in their junior or senior year. Students are excited about the possibility of incorporating the skills they've learned in an actual business setting. Past internship sites have included: VIC Marketing Department, YWCA of Bristol, Bristol Chamber of Commerce
Syracuse SkyChiefs,  Bristol Motor Speedway, Oak Ridge Recreation and Parks, the Kingsport Mets and Lake Greeley Camp. Students work closely with the their advisors to plan internships that best meet their career goals.
