Frequently Asked
Questions
What can I do with a degree in
Computer Information Management?
CIM graduates can enter practically any industry that has need
for computer professionals. The opportunities are endless and
include virtually any industry field or organization.
Does the program offer classes in Mac programming or just PC?
Macintosh programming is primarily handled through Intermont's
art and photography departments. There are not classes specifically
designed for Macs as part of the CIM major, although Mac courses
are available on campus.
What equipment will I need to participate in the major? Do
I need my own computer?
It is beneficial for most students to have their own computer
on campus anyway, but it is strongly encouraged for CIM majors
to bring their own PC or laptop.
Will I have access to computers on campus at times other than
classes?
Yes, the PC lab is open 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily. Also, there are
computers in the library that are available for student use, as
well as in the Writing Center and the two Mac labs.
